(Edmonton, AB – September 20) – On Saturday, September 10, St. Dominic Savio Parish at last held its "parish family" reunion. With the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, many parishioners had yet to return. The parish social committee recognized the need to have an event which called people back to the church in a grand way.

With the help of volunteers, the church parking lot was decorated to emulate a festival atmosphere. There were burgers and hot dogs on the grill, music in the air, bunting flags flying overhead, and balloons all around. There was a trivia game and a scavenger hunt for the kids. All parish groups also took the opportunity to talk about their own respective ministries.

Over 100 people attended the event, with some faces that the parish had not seen since the beginning of the pandemic. It was a wonderful opportunity for parishioners to enjoy seeing each other, socialize together, and catch up on the last few years.

The feedback for the event was overwhelmingly positive. Parishioners are looking forward to the next one.
