Thank You, Fr. Lou, and Welcome, Vicky, to Your New Role!

(New Rochelle, NY – September 6) – In May, the Province Youth Ministry Delegate Fr. Louis Molinelli, SDB, was assigned as the new director of the community in Takoma Park, MD. In his role as director, he will support the spiritual well-being of the SDB community and foster the Salesian charism, mission, and identity at Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School.

We thank Fr. Lou for his two years of service to the office of youth ministry (OYM)! Without his support, the OYM would not have been able to continue to revise our programming to better fit the needs of the young people of today.

Fr. Lou will continue to work with schools and will continue to represent the needs of the province to the Provincial Council. Thank you, Fr. Lou!

We are happy to announce that Ms. Victoria “Vicky” Weekley has been appointed by the provincial and his council as the interim province youth ministry delegate (PYMD). She will serve in this role until a new PYMD is selected by the Rector Major.

Although Vicky began working for the OYM in June 2018, she has been involved with the Salesian Family since her time as a student at Immaculata-La Salle High School in Miami, FL. She has over a decade of experience with Salesian programming (from attending the Salesian Leadership Retreat as a participant and young team to serving as core team, program coordinator, and retreat director). During her time in the OYM, she has been dedicated to building a community of trust and support with the local coordinators of youth ministry and the young in their local works. Last year, she graduated with her master’s degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University New Orleans. It is a testament to Vicky’s love and dedication to the Salesian mission that she was asked to fill this role.

We thank the provincial and the province for entrusting this precious mission to the young to our first lay and first female PYMD. Please join us in praying for Vicky during this exciting new adventure! We thank God for her selfless commitment to the mission!
