Last month, the Formation community of Orange, NJ enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend. It began on Sunday night with a community bonfire in which the community simply enjoyed smores, drinks, and ice cream.
We celebrated Morning Prayer as a community after a late-rising and then celebrated Mass with the parishioners of Our Lady of the Valley. After Mass, a delicious, breakfast that was prepared by Br. John with some family recipes and homemade Crum cakes. In the afternoon, the community had a cookout in our patio prepared by Fr. John, Br. Ky, and Br. Kris. It was very laid back and all enjoyed the meal. Towards the end of the meal, we decided to play the game Jenga which involved great precision with a risk of great failure. The pictures say it all as to how the game went.
Later in the evening, we celebrated Evening Prayer and then watched the new movie, Fatima, thanks to the generosity of Ms. Sally Sattan, the Coordinator of our CCD.
The day was a very pleasant, relaxing day in true Salesian fashion. The weekend gave our community a chance to just simply enjoy each other’s company and to get to know our newer members.
