(Etobicoke, Ont. – December 15) – Four new members of the Salesian Cooperators from Mary Help of Christians Centre in Toronto, Ont., will seek to live Don Bosco’s motto, “Give me souls, take away the rest,” by bringing God’s love and joy to those in greatest need, especially to the young and the poor.
Following two years of formation with formator Jill Conroy and guided by local coordinator Joseph Conroy and Salesian delegate Sr. Alphonsine Roy, FMA, the four new members were inducted into the Association of Salesian Cooperators on Sunday, December 10, during 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Benedict Parish. Fr. Mario Villaraza, director and pastor, presided.
Daiana Moschetto, Gabrielle Ene, Hawkins Choi, and Norbey Ordinez made their promise to live their lives according to the charism of Don Bosco, with their sponsors, family, friends, and parish community as witnesses. The new Cooperators received their copies of The Project of Apostolic Life, certificates of induction, ASC pins, and membership cards signed by the Rector Major.
After Mass, the local Cooperators welcomed invited guests to a potluck lunch. The celebration was attended by other members of the Salesian Family, including young adults from the parish youth ministry program.
The Association and the parish promise to follow Daiana, Gabrielle, Hawkins, and Norbey on their journey of faith with prayer and expressions of God’s love, as the “neophytes,” in turn, share their gifts and abilities with the young and the poor.
