Seasons Greetings from Fr. Gus Baek

Fr. Gus Christmas Video

Fr. Augustine "Gus" Baek, SDB, executive director of Salesian Missions, New Rochelle, has recorded a wonderful Christmas video message, which is available on Salesian Missions’ website and social media. We are happy to share that video with the Salesian Family in Canada and the USA. Through this communication to friends and donors, Fr. Gus wanted to acknowledge the difficult times we live in, largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Photos included in the video show Salesians serving those in great need in Haiti, Nigeria, and India. Since the beginning of the pandemic, donors have shown their love for their neighbors through their generous support to hundreds of projects funded through Salesian Missions, including ones for clean water, health care supplies, emergency food supplies, as well as the ongoing support for Don Bosco’s work of education and evangelization throughout the world. Through the Christmas video, Fr. Gus wants to express a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed financially and spiritually to Salesian Missions.

The creative use of digital media has enabled Fr. Gus and the team at Salesian Missions to stay in touch with donors. This year, Fr. Gus and other Salesians began live streaming the Holy Mass on Wednesdays at 10:00 am ET for donors’ intentions. Fr. Gus invites the confreres and members of the Salesian Family to join him prayer for all the Salesian missionaries, especially those from Canada and the USA. If possible, please share the video on your local works’ social media, which strengthens the unity of Don Bosco’s mission to form honest citizens and good Christians. He wishes all the confreres a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
