(New Rochelle, NY – March 12) – This year’s Mary Help of Christians Day will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Stony Point, NY. Explore a schedule of the day’s events!

Last Christmas Eve, Pope Francis, like Pope John Paul II in 1999, opened the Holy Door in St. Peter's Basilica to begin a Jubilee Year in 2025. It was an ordinary holy year — by the tradition of the Church to celebrate such a year every 25 years, to give every generation a chance to experience that special time of grace and mercy in their life.

Those who participate in a Holy Year pilgrimage can obtain a plenary indulgence; those who cannot attend in person for concrete reasons are invited to participate spiritually, “offering up the sufferings of their daily lives, and participating in the Eucharistic celebration.” (Jubilee 2025)

How you can participate in the Pilgrim of Hope Jubilee:

  • Make a pilgrimage to a designated local pilgrimage site within your diocese or a diocese nearby;
  • Engage in spiritual practices like prayer, fasting, and works of mercy; and/or
  • Seek out opportunities for the sacrament of Reconciliation.
