QUEBEC: PORTRAIT OF A SALESIAN COOPERATOR

Jocelyn

by Pierre Larocque, SC

On the eve of her 90th birthday, Jocelyne Lepine, a Salesian Cooperator from the Sainte-Claire Center in Montreal, remains active within the Association.

Long before making her Apostolic Promise in the presence of the delegates and the local coordinator on February 2, 2002, Jocelyne was a faithful collaborator within the Salesian Family. She assisted our late Sister Lucie St-Pierre, FMA, in all the activities and events in the service of young people (organization, preparation of rooms, presence with young people, cooking, etc.).

Mother to 8 children, grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren, Jocelyne has a very active life. During her husband’s lifetime, in addition to educating their children, they held a farm for several years outside Montreal. In Montreal, she hosted two of her grandchildren for two years each, so that they could study in Montreal. She regularly knits, offering slippers and washcloths to all her family members every year.

She always participates in family celebrations and supports them in their daily life.

She puts all her trust in Mary Help of Christians by praying to her and taking part in the Eucharist.  Spiritually, she finds it especially helpful to attend the monthly meetings at her center of Salesian Cooperators.

The Montreal Center of the Cooperators is grateful to Jocelyne for being a model for each of them and prays the Lord graces upon her!
