NOVENA TO MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS DAY 1

Introduction to the Novena:

Don Bosco taught us, “Mary has continued from heaven and even more efficaciously, the mission of Mother of the Church and Help of Christians, which she had begun on earth.”
You are invited to pray this novena to prepare for the celebration of the feast of Mary Help of Christians.
May we grow in our love and trust in her as Don Bosco did.
May she continue to lead all members of the Salesian Family and young people to Her Son, Jesus.
Pope Francis recently wrote to the young people and to all members of the Church, especially those who accompany young people, a letter entitled “Christus Vivit” – Christ is Alive.
Eight of the readings for this novena are taken from the Pope’s letter.
Each day, the novena consists of a reading, 3 Hail Mary’s, and the invocation “Mary Help of Christians, pray for us.”

Novena to Mary Help of Christians Day 1 (May 15)

(From the Spiritual Testament of St. John Bosco)
“The God of mercy and his holy Mother came to our help in our needs. This was especially true whenever it was a case of providing for our poor and abandoned boys, and even more so when their souls were in danger. The Blessed Virgin will certainly continue to protect our Congregation and our Salesian works if we maintain our trust in her and promote devotion to her.”
