NEW JERSEY: DON BOSCO PREP STUDENTS ENJOY FEAST DAY OUTING

Don Bosco Prep students

(Ramsey, N.J. – May 29) – On Friday, May 24, the Don Bosco Prep school community from Ramsey enjoyed a pilgrimage to the Marian Shrine in Haverstraw, N.Y., for the celebration of the feast of Mary Help of Christians. The day began with a Mass at the outdoor altar celebrated by Fr. Tim Ploch, general councilor for the Interamerica Region, and concelebrated by the Salesian communities of Ramsey and Haverstraw. The school chorus and band supplied beautiful music accompaniment.

After Mass, the students listened to a presentation from Jim White of the Covenant House, a youth homeless shelter in New York City and then participated in a community service project assembling brown bag lunches for the homeless. The boys also had time for field activities before enjoying lunch together in the picnic pavilion.
