(Etobicoke, ON – May 14) – The annual meeting of the North American Salesian Network (NASN) took place from Monday, April 28, through Wednesday, April 30, at Camp DeSales in Brooklyn, MI. NASN connects institutes and associations that share in the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales.
Mr. Joseph Conroy, provincial coordinator of Salesian Cooperators, Canada province, is the president. Fr. Joseph Boenzi, SDB, is the newly elected vice president. Mr. Ian Kinney, CEO of DeSales Resources and Ministries, dba Embraced By God, is the coordinator.
Achievements of the past year include updating the website, applying for recognition by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, engaging in the Salesian Film Festival, and offering the Fr. John Graden Memorial Lecture on St. Francis de Sales.
During the meeting Mrs. Andrea Zimmerman, province delegate for Salesian Family, presented a project she is working on—the development of a Consistent Salesian Lay Formation Program that will include a common core of Salesian topics of interest to all groups rooted in the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales and second level paths for specific spiritualities, for example, for SDBs and FMAs, Oblates of St. Francis de Sales or St. Francis de Sales Association.
