(Stony Point, NY – March 2) – The first Annual Marian Shrine Spring Gala and Animas Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 6:00 pm ET. We are proud to launch this new endeavor as we celebrate our 75th anniversary.
This event honors leaders and organizations who have extended themselves in service to the young, the poor, and the needs of the community. Their efforts are in line with the vision and spirit of St. John Bosco, our founder, who encouraged his Salesians to use their gifts and talents to improve the lives of young people.
The Animas Award refers to Don Bosco’s motto in Latin "Da Mihi Animas" which is "Give Me Souls." You’ll find the motto on our coat of arms emblazoned on the wall at the entrance to the shrine. Our honorees for 2023 are people who exemplify that motto in their daily lives. Kevin Lynch, Jeannie Nicolakis, and Howard Phillips give of themselves for the souls of the young, the poor, and the community by generously sharing their gifts, talents, spirit, and joy, even during tough times. We proudly recognize their efforts and hope that others will follow their wonderful example.
The proceeds of this event will support the work of the Salesians of Don Bosco at the Marian Shrine. Thank you for your participation and generosity in advance!
On behalf of the Salesians, our collaborators, and volunteers, I thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at the gala!
