(Harvey, LA – August 20) – Mary Help of Christians (MHC) Parish (the newly merged parish created from the former parishes of St. Rosalie and St. John Bosco) is doing well and becoming a vibrant parish as envisioned in the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Vibrancy Project.
In synodal fashion, the new parish chose its new name and its worship site—the former St. Rosalie campus.
The newly merged Knights of Columbus Council and Ladies Auxiliary are doing well. To accommodate our new parish programs, such as “Exceptional Needs Ministry and Fountain of Youth Aged 55+,” the Knights of Columbus have sponsored a handicapped ramp for our Salesian Youth Center. This is a special blessing for our ministries.
The next three Sundays will be "Recognition Sundays" to recognize and honor the MHC Divine Mercy Society and the Rosary Guild. On these Sundays, the members will receive their membership pins and outreach packets.
Additionally, we are currently getting the buildings of our campus restored from the damage caused by Hurricane Ida. Praise God!
Our newly merged parish continues to grow. Thanks be to God and the protection of our Blessed Lady.
