(Etobicoke, Ont. – October 7) – Joe Smith recently made a video production to promote the Salesian spirit. Entitled “The Spirit of Joy,” it shows how the Salesian mission is to be a sign and bearer of God’s love for young people. In a world where many young people feel connected yet alone, the Salesian Family continues St. John Bosco's dream by creating spaces of welcome, prayer, friendship, play, service, and joy. Through the oratory, which is a home, school, church, and playground, young people come to realize that they are seen, known, loved, and needed.

Don Bosco had a dream — and the dream goes on.

This video features interviews with Fr. Steve DeMaio, SDB; Fr. Branden Gordon, SDB; Fr. Damir Stojić, SDB; Sr. Hae-Jin Lim, FMA; Fr. John Puntino, SDB; Br. Bernie Dubé, SDB; Cris Smith, Former Salesian Cooperator; Joshua Balthazaar; and Rosemary Nucara.

The original music is by Jeff Smith — @jeffsmithmusic. The featured song, “A Thousand Lights,” is available on Spotify.

This video was filmed and edited by Joe Smith.

Special Thanks to St. Benedict Parish and community, as well as the Salesians of Don Bosco and SummerDaze staff and volunteers.
