Consider Attending the Salesian Spirituality Days 2026

SFSDs 2026 Consider Attending

By Andrea Zimmerman, Salesian Family SDB Delegate, Salesian Cooperator

Dear Friends in the Salesian Family,

With hearts rooted in the spirituality of Don Bosco and filled with gratitude for our shared charism, we joyfully invite you to a sacred pilgrimage: the Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2026 (Days) in Turin, Italy. Gathering in the birthplace of our movement, we will walk together in the footsteps of Don Bosco and our Salesian saints, praying, reflecting, and renewing our commitment to live the Gospel with Salesian joy and zeal.

Event Details

  • Dates: Thursday, January 15 – Sunday, January 18, 2026
  • Next year’s Spirituality Days will be held from January 15-18 in person in Turin. Additionally, the event will be available online in the various provinces around the world
  • Location: Turin, Italy (Valdocco, the heart of the Salesian mission)
  • Theme: “Towards a Continuous Renewal of the Charism” Developed in light of the Salesian Family’s 2026 theme: “Do whatever He tells you”)

Purpose of the Gathering

The purpose of the Days is to explore the Rector Major’s strenna for this new year (“Do whatever he tells you: believers, free to serve”). The strenna invites us to enter a profound spiritual experience and to awaken the faith that every apostle of young people with a Salesian spirit needs at this particular moment in our history. There are so many challenges! Mary’s faith, Don Bosco’s faith, the faith of the best of our brothers and sisters, and also of young people, are the models of faith that set us free to serve. It was precisely this faith that has nourished the journey of the Salesian Cooperators during their 150 years of existence, as well as that of the lay people identified with Don Bosco’s mission who are at work in all the groups. Let us therefore prepare ourselves from this moment for the 2026 Days.

In addition, this annual event offers members of the Salesian Family an opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with the origins of the Salesian mission.
  • Deepen our understanding of the Salesian charism.
  • Engage in prayer, reflection, and dialogue for ongoing renewal.
  • Strengthen collaboration and bonds of fraternity across our Family.
  • Celebrate our unity in Christ as one Salesian Family.

Participation

The gathering is open to members of the Salesian Family: priests, brothers, sisters, and lay people who share the spirituality of Don Bosco. Representatives from diverse Salesian groups will be present, and for those unable to travel, selected sessions will be streamed online.

Program Overview

The Days will include the following:

  • A presentation of Strenna 2026 by the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio, and conversation with him;
  • An in-depth look at the strenna, and sharing in language groups;
  • The different testimonies of lived and accompanied faith;
  • A comparison with the reality of the Salesian Cooperators and the call to encourage and accompany one another, consecrated and lay people, young people, and adults, showing the joy and commitment of our faith in this world of ours;
  • Moments of prayer, lectio divina, celebration, and festivity; and
  • Spiritual and fraternal sharing among all the participants that makes these days a true time of grace.
