(New Rochelle, NY – August 21) – Friday, August 2, marked the canonical year for the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco) four novices. They are Sr. Lisa Scarduzio, Sr. Michelle Rotter, and Sr. Megan Zegnuer of the Canada and Eastern USA Province, and Sr. Rose Enyeart of the Western USA Province.
On the Solemnity of Our Lady’s Assumption, Thursday, August 15, five young men were inducted into the novitiate as they continue their formation to be Salesians of Don Bosco for the SUE Province. They are Carlos Cerda Gutierrez, Lorenzo D’Alessandro, Nicholas Jandernoa, Christo Ruben Philistin, and Jieo Tecson.
We thank God and Mary Help of Christians for these Salesian vocations. We thank them for their “Yes!” to God’s call. We also want to express our gratitude to all those who have accompanied them in their discernment and formation journey. Let us accompany the novices and their formators with our prayers.
Their vocations reaffirm how attractive and relevant the mission of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello is today. Let us continue to be intentional in accompanying the young people to discern their vocations.
Let us give praise to God for calling us into the Salesian Family and sharing in Don Bosco’s dream and mission. We continue to pray for an increase of vocations to the Salesian Family, and the perseverance and faithfulness of those who have been called.
