(Sherbrooke, QC – September 5) – During these past few weeks, we were happy to receive two special guests: Regional Councilor for Africa-Madagascar Fr. Alphonse Owoudou, and our very own Provincial, Fr. Dominic Tran.
Fr. Alphonse was hosted at Camp Savio, where he was treated to a supper that included shrimp—a popular food in his native Cameroon and the etymological root of the country's name (from the Portuguese Rio dos Camarões or “River of Shrimps”). It was a pleasure for the community to share a meal with him, during which we learned about his musical talents and great interest in psychology.
We thank Fr. Alphonse for having sent Fr. Pierre-Célestin to serve in our province several years ago. We're also grateful to Fr. Dominic for having made the 8-hour drive from Ontario to visit us in the far reaches of the province. We enjoyed his cheerful, fraternal presence among us. During his brief stay, he formally installed Fr. Pierre-Célestin as director of the community.
