(Port Chester, N.Y. – July 8) – St. John Bosco Parish’s altar servers and their families embarked on a hike and family picnic to Bear Mountain. It was a beautiful day, and the parish’s families carpooled from Port Chester to Bear Mountain State Park.

About 20 families participated. Every family contributed to the outing by bringing food and cooking utensils. We hiked up Bear Mountain as a group, went on paddle boat rides, and played other games. Finally, we celebrated Mass together on top of the mountain.

The parish altar servers range from age 8 to 19. The older servers help to train the new ones. St. John Bosco Parish has been able to build a great sense of family.

I really feel blessed to be able to share in this ministry with so many families at St. John Bosco Parish in Port Chester.
