(New Rochelle, NY – October 8) – On Monday, September 22, one hundred and thirty Salesian High School (Salesian High) alumni and friends descended upon Rye Golf Club for the school’s 30th annual golf outing. Attendees were treated to a delicious hot breakfast in the morning and a spirited round of golf in the afternoon.
The golf committee, which was made up of members of the advancement team and other departments, did a magnificent job in arranging the day's festivities, including a low score, longest drive, and closest-to-the-pin skill contests.
Salesian High was able to host a hole-in-one challenge for a new Toyota Highlander, thanks to the support of Ken Hicks, Mariano Rivera, and Liam Tully at Rivera Toyota in Mt. Kisco, NY. The dealership has been a steadfast supporter of our athletic efforts. Golfers then entered the Whitby Castle at Rye Golf for dinner, auctions, raffles, and our Hall of Fame inductions, which are always the high point of the day.
The evening's festivities were kicked off with a welcome from Salesian High’s President Fr. James Heuser, SDB, followed by a prayer by its director, Fr. Mike Conway, SDB. Steve Sallustio kicked off the dinner agenda by acknowledging all the current Hall of Famers in attendance. Salesian High welcomed the newest members to its Hall of Fame by inducting Kevin Punter ’11, John Motta ’74, and Harry Hart. Raffles and a 50/50 drawing followed a lively auction.
