(Marrero, La. – October 7) – On Friday, October 2, New Orleans Archbishop James Checchio made his first visit to Archbishop Shaw High School to celebrate the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels with the entire school in the gym. Many guests, alumni, and members of the Shaw community were in attendance.

After Mass, Archbishop Checchio blessed the site of the new Student Commons Building, which is currently under construction.

Afterwards, he had lunch with some administrators and students from Shaw and its sister school next door, Academy of Our Lady. The young men and young ladies shared their stories with the Archbishop, along with their hopes for the future of the Catholic Church in New Orleans.
