The January Retreat Is Back!

January Retreat Returns

By Amy Stockinger, Office Support Manager, Province Offices of Vocations and Youth and Young Adult Ministry

(New Rochelle, NY – January 24) – From Friday, January 13, through Sunday, January 15, the Salesian Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry resumed the January retreat at the Don Bosco Retreat Center in Stony Point, NY. The theme for the retreat was "Welcome to Valdocco."

Formerly a Salesian Leadership Retreat (SLR), this retreat now focuses on providing youth in the province with an encounter with Jesus, the Salesian charism, and the Salesian Family. This retreat is now primarily for freshmen and sophomores in Salesian parishes, schools, and youth centers.

Fifty-six people from six different works (ranging from Chicago to Tampa) were in attendance this year. Victoria Weekley served as program director, while Fr. Steve DeMaio and Fr. Lou Molinelli served as chaplains.

A big thank you to all of the local works and core team who made the return of the January retreat a success!
