By Mrs. Rosina Di Felice, Salesian Cooperator
(Etobicoke, ON – August 21) – A Mass of Thanksgiving for the vocation of Sr. Natalie Doummar, FMA, was celebrated on Sunday, August 18, at St. Benedict’s Parish. Sr. Natalie professed her first religious vows in North Haledon, NJ, on Monday, August 5.
Having been introduced and deeply drawn to the Salesian spirit as a VIDES volunteer during a missionary experience with the Salesian Sisters in Argentina in 2015, Natalie had a yearning to be part of the Salesian Family. Years later, she discerned God’s call and joined the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. In 2020, Natalie entered as an aspirant with the Salesian Sisters.
Etobicoke Director Fr. John Puntino, SDB, presided at the Mass of Thanksgiving, where Sr. Natalie renewed her vows along with other Salesian Sisters. A joyful reception followed, attended by her family, friends, and members of the Salesian Family including SDBs, FMAs, Salesian Cooperators, and VIDES, as well as parishioners. Later this month, Sr. Natalie begins her new apostolate in Vancouver, BC, where she will serve as the director of religious education at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.
