The celebrant of the Mass was Fr. Lou Molinelli, SDB who served as both the director and principal during the 2020-2021 school year. Fr. The following day, Archbishop Shaw held its graduation ceremony on campus in its multi-purpose Joe Zimmerman Stadium. Along with assistant principal Mr. Nicholas N. Marchese '05, Fr. SHERBROOKE
The end of the academic year for Le Salésien in Quebec is somewhat different from American customs. The school year normally ends around June 23 with the final exams, just before the feast of St. John the Baptist and National Day in Quebec. High school graduates end their year with the bal des finissants (prom), an evening that takes place in a nearby hotel. Parents lead their child dressed in a suit or ball gown and a grand dinner is organized followed by an evening of dancing.
The graduation ceremony takes place in November with great decorum in the school auditorium. The parents are present and Fr. Alain, after a short speech, will bless the young people and their parents. A duplicate of their diploma is given along with the souvenir album and an inspiring alumnus who has succeeded in a particular field speaks to them. This former student receives the Pericles Prize. In times of Covid-19, these farewell rituals have been adapted.
