(New Rochelle, N.Y. – October 22) – Mary Has a Little Farm (the Farm) hosted Clark Elementary School for a field trip in Tampa, FL, on Wednesday, October 15.

One hundred and forty children visited the Farm. Divided into seven groups, they took turns rotating around the Farm to learn about its various animals, such as, but not limited to, horses, bunnies, goats, lambs, pigs, and chickens.

“It’s normal for us to have over 100 kids,” Mary Has a Little Farm Coordinator Kay Conroy shared. “Kids learn here and have fun.”

The children were also given insights into farm life, such as being educated on the difference between hay and straw, as well as various grain and feed needed for each animal.

They were able to pet and feed the animals, as well as embark on the Farm’s nature trail. On the nature trail, students learned about the various sights they beheld, such as animal bones, fruit trees, and butterfly houses. The nature trail then led into the hayride, which brought students and their chaperones back to the main area of the Farm.

Following their tour of the Farm, the children and their teachers and chaperones broke for lunch before their departure from the Mary Help of Christians campus.

Established in 2018, Mary Has a Little Farm is housed on the Mary Help of Christians campus in Tampa. It is run by volunteers, which include parishioners and chaperones who previously visited the Farm on a field trip.

“This is our devotion to Mary,” Kay beamed. “This is her farm.”

Mary Has a Little Farm is known for its safety in the Tampa area, as it is not open to the public. In addition to hosting school field trips, the farm hosts birthday parties and bridal showers.
