To mark the end of Vocation Awareness Week, the Salesian community of Don Bosco Residence in Orange, N.J., hosted a “come and see” vocation retreat, November 9-11.

Fr. Dominic Tran and Bro. Bernie Dubé led the weekend retreat for seven young men from three of our Salesian high schools. In addition, Bro. Travis Gunther and the prenovices and candidate from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J., also gave of their time to be present during the weekend. During the retreat, there were moments of reflection and prayer (Mass, adoration, evening and night prayer, and Rosary) in addition to seeing Salesian ministries in action and listening to Salesian vocation stories.

The Salesian Vocation Office thank the readers of Salesian News for your prayers and thanks the communities for encouraging and inviting young people to spend time praying and considering God’s vocation for them.

Two more “come and see” vocation retreats are scheduled for this pastoral year: February 8-10, 2019, for high school-aged youth, and April 17-20, 2019, for young adults (posts-high school).

Please continue to encourage, invite, and accompany our young people.
