Stony Point: Shrine Holds Youth Rally Festival

Stony Point: Shrine Youth Rally

By Jennifer Passerino, Salesian Family

(Stony Point, N.Y. – October 22) – On Saturday, October 11, the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians (the Shrine) held a youth rally festival celebrating the lives of young saints, highlighting St. Carlo Acutis. Over 75 students from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades gathered for a day of praise and worship.

After an Introduction by the Stony Point community’s director, Fr. Manny Gallo, the students participated in praise and worship through song. Shrine Coordinator Fr. Pat Anglelucci then gave a keynote talk on St. Carlo Acutis.

During the day, students participated in color war challenge games and a Eucharistic Miracles Salesian activity, and were able to take photos with St. Carlo Acutis’ lifesize cutout. The children were also able to see a vestment of St. Carlo, as well as a relic from him. Adoration and confession were offered at the outdoor altar, followed by a pilgrim Rosary, and a closing Mass.

It was a beautiful day to open the eyes of these young people to the power of our Catholic faith and the possibility of sainthood for all.
