SEPTEMBER 27 – OCTOBER 3

This week, please keep in your prayers Salesian Lay Missioner Mary Funk and all those she will be serving. Mary was commissioned for service in Montero, Bolivia. She is an alumna of the Catholic University of America.

What do you expect to do on mission?
M – “I will be caregiving, assisting with everyday life, and helping girls with homework at the orphanage.”

Why have you joined the Salesian Lay Missioner program and/or what do you hope to accomplish through your SLM mission?
M – “My ultimate purpose is to create an environment where each child feels welcomed and loved, to encourage each child to discover and pursue her gifts and talents, to learn from the children, by their daily example of childlike joy and simplicity, and finally, to work hard, play hard, and pray hard with each child.”
