(Ramsey, NJ – September 27) – It was a busy, faith-filled week last week at Don Bosco Prep (DBP)! On Monday, September 19, we celebrated our school’s opening liturgy, the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Ramsey Director Fr. Abraham Feliciano, SDB, celebrated the Mass, which was concelebrated by the Ramsey Salesian community, as the student body prayed for a successful year both spiritually and academically. We also shared in the blessing and dedication of the completed third floor of Savio Hall, which includes the Forgione Family Engineering Center and multi-purpose space.
On Tuesday, September 20, 15 DBP music students, along with music department chairs Mrs. Toni Bilotti Cecere and Mr. Gary Cecere, went to Mary Help of Christians Academy (MHCA) in North Haledon, NJ to present a performing arts assembly. Ironmen also spoke to the girls at MHCA, relaying how music has positively affected their lives. We look forward to collaborating with MHCA's music program throughout the school year!
Don Bosco Prep also held the Sacrament of Reconciliation outdoors during theology classes on Tuesday and Wednesday for our students and staff. Our Ramsey community of Salesians, along with those visiting from area Salesian houses, held Reconciliation around the pond and by the Grotto.
On Thursday, September 22, our youth ministry department hosted its first adoration night of the school year. Students from Mary Help of Christians and Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township, NJ joined our boys for a wonderful evening of prayer and fun. We are blessed to have two Salesians in residence, Pre-Novitiate Nicholas Jandernoa and Candidate Lorenzo D'Alessandro, who provided the music for adoration. Many thanks to Coordinator of Youth Ministry (CYM) Br. Travis Gunther, SDB, and Assistant CYM Mr. Anthony Falco, for hosting the evening.
