PROVINCE CYMS HOLD ANNUAL MEETING

CYM meeting 2018

(New Rochelle, N.Y. – November 5) – From October 22 to 24, the coordinators of youth ministry of the New Rochelle Province gathered at the Don Bosco Retreat Center in Haverstraw-Stony Point, N.Y., for the annual CYM meeting. The primary theme for the meetings was “Salesian Holiness as a response to the needs of the young [and the World].”

On the first day, Fr. Tom Dunne led a day of retreat for the 25 participants, including members of the Province Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The second day consisted of formation, which included presentations by Fr. Abraham Feliciano, Fr. Dominic Tran, Fr. James Berning, and Mariel Cabrera from St. Benedict Parish in Etobicoke, Ont. These presentations focused on the current realities of the Church in Canada and the United States. The final day included sessions on practical matters, and time to reflect, share experiences, and discuss.

Throughout the meetings, there was also time for prayer (including morning and evening prayer moments, confession, adoration, and daily Mass), reflection, small and large group sharing, and community building.
