Port Chester Salesian Family Celebrates 150 Years of Salesian Cooperators

Port Chester Salesian Family at Don Bosco Prep

By Emily Maldonado, Salesian Cooperator

(Port Chester, NY – May 20) – On Saturday, May 9, the St. John Bosco, Port Chester Salesian Cooperators, and the Port Chester Valdocco High School Youth Group joined many other Salesian Cooperator units and members of the Salesian family for a beautiful day of faith, fellowship, and community at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ.

Together we shared in the Mass, prayer, stories, food, and even kickball. We spent time making lasting memories. Even the rain could not stop the joy of the day.

We really enjoyed meeting Salesian Cooperator, Bernie Pontillo, who coordinated this Salesian Family Day. He added joy and laughter to this event by creating balloon animals and introducing us to his three adorable ducks. It was truly a meaningful experience for both the youth and Cooperators alike.

We hope that this experience encourages our young people to continue to grow in the Salesian spirit. We also hope that this day serves to remind our Cooperators to continue to live out their commitment with renewed dedication, faith, and service, so as to continue to shape and inspire the growth of our Salesian Family in the future.
