Novitiate | “What Could Have Been…”

Novitiate Pandemic Reflection
The following is a reflection from our a confrere in the Novitiate on living in “One Year of Life in Time of Pandemic.”

“During the past year at the novitiate community in Richmond, CA, the novices have been edified by the example and wisdom of their elder confreres, enriched by community prayer life, and built community through playing volleyball, having Friday movie night, and going hiking. Every member contributes their skills to the community, whether it be cooking on Saturdays, cracking jokes, playing music for community Mass, or talking to students during lunch. In order to become more relevant to today’s youth, the novices thought about forming a Salesian band named after their favorite term from the Project of Life. However, realizing their little musical talent, they decided to fold up, but not without having Br. Al Vu work a little photoshopping magic to show ‘what could have been…’”
