GOSPEL ROADS III SERVES MIGRANTS, OTHERS IN TIJUANA

Gospel Roads III

(Tijuana, Mexico – January 5) – From December 27 to January 4 the Gospel Roads III service retreat program took place in Tijuana. The intensive week was planned and carried out by the Salesian Youth Ministry Office of the New Rochelle Province in cooperation with the Salesians of Tijuana. The overall coordinators were Fr. Abe Feliciano and Gui Lopes from the YM Office in New Rochelle.

For one week, the young adult participants lived and worked side by side serving at the Desayunador Padre Chava (a soup kitchen where breakfast is served to an average of 1000 people daily), which assists migrants and people living on the streets around Tijuana.  The group also performed service at the Mary Help of Christians Parish and Oratory, and the Saint John Bosco Oratory. The GRIII team were given an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ, and be Jesus Christ to others, through service to the young and the poor in the spirit of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.
