(East Boston, MA – June 24) – Salesian Boys & Girls Club of East Boston began its summer camp program on June 24 with 130 excited campers in attendance. Campers were placed into age groups and welcomed with a celebration of Mass by Fr. Jay Horan, director of the Salesian community, and Fr. Bill Bucciferro.

A total of 225 youngsters are registered for camp for at least one week during the summer. The staff has been busy organizing several favorite programs and planning some new ones, including a variety of outings to ensure that the campers have a safe and memorable summer.

The Club is grateful to the Salesian communities of the province for their kind support of the Club’s annual May breakfast fundraiser. The Salesians’ generosity has helped to provide 62 deserving children with financial assistance to participate in summer camp.
