East Boston: Honoring the Feast of St. Francis de Sales

East Boston Honors St. Francis de Sales

By Br. Bob Metell, SDB

(East Boston, MA – February 1) – On Wednesday, January 24, the Salesian Boys & Girls Club celebrated the feast of St. Francis de Sales with a prayer service conducted by Fr. Rich Putnam and Br. Bob Metell. Fr. Rich began with a story and explanation about the life of St. Francis and ended with the prayer from the feast of St. Francis de Sales. Br. Bob got a group of Club members to demonstrate the Parable of the Sower and the Seeds. This skit illustrated how St. Francis heard the word of God and put it into action. After the prayer service concluded, the youngsters then feasted on chicken nuggets and French fries when the prayer service concluded. The St. Francis de Sales coloring contest winners are posted on the Club’s Facebook page.
