Congratulations, Fr. Dominic!

Congratulations, Fr. Dominic!

(New Rochelle, NY – June 22) – Last week, news broke of Fr. Dominic Danh Cong Tran, SDB's, appointment as provincial. Some Salesians and lay colleagues in New Rochelle shared their thoughts with Salesian News. Here is what they had to say:

"We accompany him with our prayerful support during these days of transition. We trust that he’s in the Lord’s good hands."
- Fr. Mike Conway, SDB, Province Treasurer
"I always appreciated his humility and willingness to lead by example. I know he’ll continue that as provincial."
- Fr. Steve DeMaio, SDB, Province Assistant Vocations Director, Young Adult Ministry
"In his new endeavor as new provincial, Fr. Dominic personifies Don Bosco’s teachings. May Don Bosco and Mary Help of Christians guide him along the way."
- Mrs. Jo-Ann Donahue, Salesian Provincial Center Receptionist
"I’m happy [about Fr. Dominic’s appointment]. I think he has a good sense of the province and is going to bring a new perspective. I wish him well. God bless you, Fr. Dominic."
- Br. Bernie Dubé, SDB, Assistant Coordinator of Youth Ministry, Salesian High School
"I am very excited for Fr. Dominic as he becomes provincial. Fr. Dominic embodies Don Bosco's teachings, and his loving-kindness, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor brings us all, especially the young, closer to Christ."
- Miss Julia St. Clair, Province Communications Director
"Think of every word that you would use to describe what it means to be Salesian. For me, each of those words aptly describes Fr. Dom: a man of faith, devoted to Mary, joyful, loving, empathetic, hardworking, patient, welcoming, balanced, prophetic... The province is truly blessed to have him serve us as provincial these next six years."
- Mrs. Amy Stockinger, Office Support Manager, Province Offices of Vocations and Youth and Young Adult Ministry
