"Truly a Saint Among Us"

Saints Next Door: Carol Verde

By Lynn Donovan-Krakaur, Coordinator, Stony Point Salesian Cooperator Unit

Carol Verde served as a bookkeeper at the Marian Shrine in Stony Point, NY. As a Salesian Cooperator, she was truly all things Salesian. She volunteered to help out at youth leadership retreats, formation events, and Lenten pasta dinners. Carol had been on my case for many years to become a Salesian Cooperator. She was the kindest most energetic person, who always jumped in to help with any task needed. Additionally, she was a very proud grandmother who was devoted to our Blessed Mother and would pray for anyone that needed help.

Carol passed away on May 15, 2019. Although I miss Carol and her Salesian joy, I was so blessed to have her present when I made my Cooperator Promise. She was truly a Saint among us!
