Stony Point: Marian Shrine Holds Successful Women’s Retreat

Stony Point Women's Retreat

By Mrs. Jennifer Passerino, Salesian Family

(Stony Point, NY – September 3) – An English-speaking women's retreat was held at the Marian Shrine from Friday, August 23, through Saturday, August 24. The retreat welcomed over 40 women from St. Raymond Parish in the Bronx, NY, and all over the Stony Point area. Fr. Manny Gallo, the Shrine’s director, organized the retreat with the help of Fr. Sasika Lokuhettige and Fr. Pat Angelucci.

The retreat focused on the interior healing found in the graces of the sacraments. There was time for music, provided by Mrs. Catherine Ramírez, and talks, featuring one in particular given by Mrs. Catherine Bunyan dedicated to the reality of how the devil works through our traumas and wounds. A special highlight of the weekend included a discussion and prayer honoring the Blessed Mother, as the women responded so fondly about Mary Help of Christians.

We thank God for this opportunity to evangelize and focus on the value of being great women of God today.
