Salesian Past Pupils Wed in Tampa

CRT Alumni Wed

By Fr. Eddie Chincha, SDB

(Port Chester, NY – May 14) – On Saturday, May 3, Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School (CRT) had its first alumni wedding celebrated on its campus.

I was honored to be invited to officiate the wedding of Sergio Ramirez and Leslie Santos, alumni of the first graduating class in 2020. They met for the first time while they were students. I also met them when I was assigned to Tampa in 2019. I was able to build a good rapport with the alumni by playing soccer with them on Saturdays for the next few years.

It was exciting to see many alumni all grown up and doing great things. It was inspiring to see the impact this school has on its alumni, despite the very short time it has been operating.

The class of 2020 was the same class that unfortunately had their graduation delayed by two months because of the pandemic.

Nonetheless, CRT’s alumni appreciated the efforts we made to help them in their courses and in other needs their families were going through during that time.

Please pray for them and that more Salesian past pupils remain in touch with their alma maters.
