Salesian Lay Missioner Discernment Retreat

SLM Discernment Weekend

By Adam Rudin

From June 11-13, the Salesian Lay Missioner (SLM) program hosted a virtual discernment retreat. The weekend gave candidates for the SLM program an opportunity to learn about the Salesians, SLM program, and share their own discernment journey with each other. The presenters include Sr. Denise Sickinger, FMA (“Salesians and Don Bosco”), Fr. Dominic Tran, SDB (“Discernment”), Br. Dan Glass, SDB (“The Oratory Criteria”), and SLM director Adam Rudin. Among the highlights of the weekend was a panel of SLM alumni (SLMA), who shared their mission stories and offered advice, support, and prayers for those in discernment to become SLMs. Clare Pressimone (Cambodia), Michelle Ross (Bolivia), and Br. Dan Glass (S. Sudan) served as panelists. Please pray for Isabella Alfonso (FL) and John Funk (CA), who were in attendance over the weekend, and all those considering long-term service. For additional information on the SLM program, please visit www.SalesianLayMissioners.org.
