Salesian Lay Missioner Discernment Retreat

SLM Discernment Weekend

(New Rochelle, NY – March 7) – The Salesian Lay Missioner (SLM) program hosted a virtual Discernment Retreat from Friday, February 25, through Sunday, February 27.  The weekend gave candidates for the SLM program an opportunity to learn about the Salesians and SLM program, as well as share their own discernment journeys with each other. Sr. Kelly Schuster, FMA (“Salesians, Don Bosco, and Mary Mazzarello”); Fr. Steve DeMaio, SDB (“Discernment”); Fr. Sean McEwen, SDB (“The Oratory Criteria”); and SLM Director Adam Rudin were among those present. The highlights of the weekend included a panel of SLM alumni (SLMA), who shared their stories from mission and offered advice, support, and prayers for those in discernment. Clare Pressimone (Cambodia), Megan Schneider (Bolivia), and Laura Vacheresse (South Africa/Swaziland) served as panelists. Please pray for those in attendance of the weekend—Mara Fenn (NC), Theresa Ortiz (PA), Suzanne Platt (PA), David Ramirez (NJ), Wilbert Silva (Toronto), and Paula Beltran (NJ)—as well as all those considering long-term service.
