(New Rochelle, NY – October 30) – On Saturday, October 26, the Friends of Holy Rosary - Port Chester gathered around 11:00 a.m. to place white roses on each of the 200 plus graves at the provincial cemetery in Goshen. Led by Yanina Valle, this small group began an annual visit to remember the deceased Salesians following the 2012 death of their beloved pastor, Fr. Steve Schenck.

In anticipation of All Souls Day, a 12:00 noon open-air Mass in Spanish was celebrated by Fr. Richard Alejunas with the group of devotees: Yanina Valle, Sandra Rosario, Elsa Lara, Jorge Lara, America Reyes, Guillermo Sanchez, and others. Many thanks to all those who attended our monthly commemoration!

Also, a special word of gratitude to our Port Chester Salesian Family, who made the memorial flowers possible. Thank you for your donations: Yanina, Juanita, Martha, Martha Morales, Elsa, Chiki, Joel, Sandra, Carmen Japa, and Mario Garcia.

The cemetery visitor logbook notes a recent visit on Sunday, October 13, by Fr. John Puntino, SDB. He wrote: “So many have gone before us with a witness of holiness and with giving us guidance and formation in our Salesian identity and mission.”

Our next Salesian Family cemetery visit will take place on Saturday, November 16, at 12:00 noon. It will be sponsored by the Salesian Cooperators, Marian Shrine, Stony Point, NY. Please come and join us for prayer at this Salesian Family encounter. All are invited!
