Ramsey: Ironmen Robotics Team Wins Finalist Alliance

(Ramsey, NJ – March 7) – The Varsity Ironmen Robotics Team won a finalist alliance (second place) trophy at the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) District Event at Hatboro-Horsham High School over this past weekend. Thirty- four teams participated.

Although the team finished the qualification rounds in a disappointing 20th place due to a balky robot arm, they were chosen to be a part of the fifth alliance based upon their mobility, to complement a robot that had a good arm but poor mobility. This combination worked out fabulously, and the alliance made it to the playoff finals before losing the rubber match of a best-of-three series.

The FIRST Midatlantic District is made up of more than 125 teams in New Jersey, Delaware, and Eastern Pennsylvania. FRC robots can weigh up to 125 pounds.
