Ramsey: DBP Veterans Affairs Club Welcomes Home Its Veterans

Ramsey Veterans Welcome Home

By Stephanie Waters, Executive Assistant to the Director, Don Bosco Prep

(Ramsey, N.J. – October 28) – On Saturday, October 17, members of Don Bosco Prep’s Veterans Affairs Club, accompanied by teachers Mrs. Gettler and Ms. Harris, participated in the 40th U.S. Veterans Honor Flight Welcome Home Rally at New York Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, N.Y. The mission has honored more than 3,000 Hudson Valley veterans with trips to Washington, D.C., to visit monuments and attend special ceremonies.

DBP students enthusiastically welcomed home Korean and Vietnam War veterans with USA chants, flags, and banners, offering the heartfelt recognition many did not receive upon returning home.

Despite a flight delay, the boys patiently waited, connected with veterans from multiple branches of service, and listened to their stories.

The entire DBP community is incredibly proud of its young men for giving their Saturday evening to honor those who served. Organizers have invited them to return in the spring, and DBP looks forward to participating again!
