Port Chester: Winter Festivities at St. John Bosco Parish

Port Chester: Winter at St. John Bosco Parish, 2025-26

By Fr. Eddie Chincha, SDB, CYM, St. John Bosco Parish, Port Chester, NY

(Port Chester, NY – January 7) – Winter is busy here in Port Chester. St. John Bosco Parish celebrated the Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Carlo Acutis, Christmas, New Year, and the Epiphany.

During this time, the parish held a celebration that included a street procession while praying the Rosary, Mañanitas at 5:00 a.m., food festivals for hundreds of people, outings, Christmas gatherings for our parish leaders, and even Eucharistic adoration on December 31, 2025, to welcome to the New Year. St. John Bosco Parish’s youths and young adults took a central role in animating these events.

The SDB community of Port Chester also found time to share in brotherhood and prayer together. Our parishioners and visitors left knowing our celebrations have a deeper purpose—to lead us to Christ. This is why our church attendance has increased despite the cold weather. Now we prepare ourselves to celebrate Don Bosco Day bigger than ever before.

Keep us in your prayers as we switch gears to a new phase.
