(Port Chester, NY – December 22) – This past weekend, December 20-21, the St. John Bosco Parish's youth ministry groups, along with other parish groups, put together our yearly Pastorela (Christmas) play in Spanish, plus a Christmas concert and food.

About 50 people took part in this endeavor as actors, stage crew, volunteers, and around 500 parishioners attended. The theme was how Don Bosco explained Christmas to the young people in his oratory, and that Christmas is not about gifts and parties, but about God becoming a child to save us. Our young people rehearsed weekly for three months and spent the last two days setting up the stage, getting their costumes and makeup ready as well. We also had gifts for all the small children.

Currently, St. John Bosco Parish is preparing for a very busy Christmas week, when all its parishioners and visitors will come through its doors. We even held an extra confession on Monday last week, so people would come to confession before Christmas. Port Chester is indeed a place that doesn’t stop.
