Port Chester: Hosting Tampa YA Volunteers

Port Chester YA Volunteers from Tampa Visit St. John Bosco Parish

By Fr. Bill Buccifero, SDB

(Port Chester, NY – January 22) – This past weekend, the St. John Bosco Parish community hosted the second group of young adult volunteers from Tampa, FL. They came to help us in some of our ministries, such as the altar servers training program. This program brings families of new altar servers together by organizing and sharing a meal. Additionally, our servers receive adequate training for their experience.

We are grateful to these Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School alumni, who volunteered their time to come and help. Many parishioners were impressed at how well they live up to the Salesian charism in their college lives and share it whenever they can.

We are also grateful to our CYM, Fr. Eddie Chincha, for organizing this second expedition and creating an environment of cooperation and fellowship.
