(New Rochelle, NY – February 26) – The province office of youth and young adult ministry (OYM team) hosted its first program of the year, the 2025 Valdocco Retreat, from Friday, February 14, through Sunday, February 16, at the Marian Shrine in Stony Point, NY.
There were 101 attendees, including the young team, participants, core team, and adult chaperones from 11 Salesian works or those affiliated with the Salesians. Over the weekend, the group encountered the sacraments, the Salesian charism, and each other.
The Valdocco Retreat invites participants to have their own personal encounter with the Lord modeled by the 13 young team members. This is the retreat’s first time having a complete and independent young team. As this retreat continues to establish itself, a few more young people will join us in leading next year.
As always, we are so thankful to our core team, their passion for the young team, and the sacrifice of those adults who take their personal time to accompany the students over the weekend. Thank you again for all your prayers! Be Valdocco!
