Lauren Seback

This week, please keep in your prayers Salesian Lay Missioner Lauren Seback and all those she will be serving. Lauren was commissioned for service at the Instituto Maria Auxiliadora in Yapacaní, Bolivia. Her hometown is Littleton, Colo., and she is an alumna of Franciscan University of Steubenville.

What do you expect to do on mission?

“I desire to be the hands and feet of Christ and humbly to serve each person I will encounter on mission. I pray to be a vessel of Christ’s love and peace, and to bring his hope to others. I aspire to imitate the Blessed Mother, always ready to give my yes to whatever Christ asks of me in service to the community in Bolivia.”

Why have you joined the Salesian Lay Missioner program and/or what do you hope to accomplish thru your SLM mission?

“I have always felt called to be a Catholic missionary and to do long-term foreign mission work. I became a nurse with hopes to one day serve those most in need as a foreign missionary. This past year God opened many doors in my life that eventually led me to the SLM program, where I will be a missionary in Bolivia. I hope to give to others as a nurse, and I pray to be an instrument of Christ’s love as I serve this community.”
