THE NATIONAL DIALOGUE – SEARCHING FOR WAYS TO SPEAK TO THE YOUNG

(New Rochelle, N.Y. – September 10) – On September 5-6, Fr. Abraham Feliciano and Amy Marinaro of the Salesian Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry attended the meeting for the National Dialogue in San Antonio, Texas. The National Dialogue is a national collaborative effort among the USCCB, NFCYM, and many other organizations. Its intent is to begin (or, in some cases, to continue) a dialog between the Church, youths, and young adults. Through this dialog, it is hoped that genuine relationships will be built and that the voices of the Church will be heard.

This was the third in-person meeting of the National Dialogue. The two previous meetings as well as this one were attended by Salesians of the St. Philip the Apostle Province. At this particular meeting those in attendance were encouraged to begin the dialog in their church communities. They were updated on the progress of the V Encuentro and Synod of Bishops on “Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment,” whose findings will be used in conjunction with the information collected by the National Dialogue to continue to search for the best ways to minister to youths and young adults.
