By Bro. Bob Metell, SDB

(Tampa, Fla. – February 26) – On Saturday, February 16, youngsters from Mary Help of Christians Parish in Tampa joined youths from around the Greater Tampa Bay area for the Knights of Columbus’ annual Regional Free Throw Challenge. The winners from the local councils advance to the Regional Challenge, this year sponsored by St. Timothy Parish in Lutz, Fla. Chloe Salgado came in 2nd place in the girls’ nine-year-olds level of the Regional Challenge. She is eligible to advance to the State Level Championship being held in Lakeland on March 7 if the first-place winner cannot attend the competition. She will be competing against basketball players from around the state. All the Mary Help basketball champions did a great job in the competition, demonstrating good sportsmanship and representing the parish.
