(Marrero, LA – February 22) – Mardi Gras season came to a close here in New Orleans, and Archbishop Shaw High School’s marching band has had quite a busy and successful season! The band marched in four Mardi Gras parades this year that spanned different locations around the New Orleans metro area. On Saturday, February 10, the band traveled to Kenner, a suburb of New Orleans, to march in the Mardi Gras parade called “Krewe of Isis.” This was not just a parade, but also a performance competition. Many bands came out from all parts of Southeastern Louisiana marched, and competed—and the Eagles came in first place! We could not be more proud of our young musicians here on the West Bank for representing Shaw and winning this prestigious competition!
